About Me

There are three things in life I cannot get enough of: Computer Science, sports, and dancing.

I attended Kansas State University for my undergraduate degree in Computer Science. During this time, I primarily focused on studying various artificial intelligence topics such as game A.I. and pathing.

After graduation, I began working on a master's degree in Software Engineering, concentrating on the architectural design of software and project management. While I am aware of the minority this puts me in, I will admit to enjoying a good class diagram now and then.

After receiving my Master's degree, I moved to Kansas City for a position with Honeywell. While working full time in Kansas City, I have continued to work toward a PhD in Computer Science with Kansas State University part-time. Much of my focus for this has been in the security-related aspects of software and Computer Science.

When I am not banging on a keyboard, I try to get out and play every sport I can get my hands on. Basketball, ultimate frisbee, and tennis are probably the three I enjoy the most, but I will play anything when given the chance.

Another activity I love is dancing. I try to get out as often and possible for swing, salsa, and country dancing. While salsa is my favorite, I'm pretty well known for strapping on a pair of boots and letting out a quality Kansas "yeehaw" from time to time.

A few other activities that I can be found occupying my time with are chess, juggling, and unicycling. While at Kansas State University, I was the president of their chess club for two years, and participated in their juggling club for almost five years. I was able to convince several of them to learn to unicycle and join me in what is known as "Muni" (mountain unicycling). While there are no mountains in Kansas, we found whatever mountain bike trails we could and gave them our best effort! Take a look at the video below for a good laugh :-D
